The proof is in the names

14 Sep 11 | Re: What’s wrong with Ginny

Just to follow up the last post, if you want proof that Ginny Weasley is a drip, just look at what she and Harry call their children: James Sirius Potter, Albus Severus Potter and Lily Luna Potter.

So they are called after Harry’s dad, Harry’s godfather, Harry’s mentor, Harry’s weird is-he-or-isn’t-he nemesis, Harry’s mum, and, er, Luna Lovegood. There isn’t a single Weasley connection between the three of them. None of those lovely traditional English or Arthurian names that her family like to use. Where is Galahad Roger Potter? Where is Daisy Morgana? Sort it out, Ginny!

Now, you could argue that Luna must have been Ginny’s choice. But I reply: first, that’s only the middle name of the third child, so it isn’t good enough; second, she’s as much Harry’s friend as Ginny’s anyway; and third, it seems probable to me that the name is actually Harry’s suggestion because he has got fed up with Ginny and developed an irrational crush on Luna out of marital boredom. Dear, dear, what a pickle. But at least Ginny is oblivious.
