OK, first blog post ever. I might make clear now that there are some differences between this and most other blogs:

This whole website is set not to show up on Google, so I'm actively avoiding getting traffic from anyone I don't know. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if nobody read this whatsoever. I'm aware that in all likelihood I may as well shout down a well as post things on here; the beauty of the internet is that I don't need to have a local well to go to to get the simple pleasure of sounding off to no one in particular. Still, I'm confident that the theoretical possibility that someone could read this will be enough incentive to persuade me to keep it nice and light.
If you want to comment on posts, you'll have to talk to me or ring me up. This is emphatically Web 1.0, if that.
There are no tag clouds, search facility, blogroll, archiving or anything like that. I've written all the HTML myself so it's very basic, and since it's possible that, like the Royal Mail's super-relevant modern postal service, there will be no second post, I don't see much point in looking into how to do that stuff. I envision basically a massive column of text stretching for miles down your computer screen.

So that's it. First post done.
